Aimee McWilliams is a London born creative director, fashion designer and lecturer based between London and Paris. She is an award winning graduate of Central Saint Martins, gaining further awards and recognition throughout her career for her work in both women‘s ready to wear and lingerie. Aimee is the founder of design consultancy The Design Bureau, and is the co-founder and creative director of aimée, a luxury lingerie, lounge and nightwear brand manufactured in France.

At The Design Bureau, Aimee offers a consultancy service tailored to the needs of the client. Clients range from existing luxury brands to start up companies. With a team of designers, pattern cutters and seamstresses, services range from brand development and strategy, to the design, sampling and presentation of product. The Design Bureau offers consultancy services across a wide range of product categories from sportswear, lingerie, red carpet, bridal and occasion wear, to mens and women ready to wear. Collections are developed across a multitude of specialist textiles from knitwear, print, surface embellished and woven textiles. Commercial clients include Balmain, Givenchy, Levis, Under, Guoman group, Mercedes Benz and the Rolling Stones.

aimée was launched in 2016, with a premium lingerie, lounge and nightwear collection. This is the essence of the aimee signature and is an all encompassing vision. This summer will see the launch of a beach line, with a sportswear offering launching towards the end of 2017. Aimee’s academic life has been largely based in Central Saint Martins where she has been a sessional lecturer in design and illustration since 2002. In 2011 she was appointed as acting director of the graduate diploma programme. She is also a senior lecturer at the Royal College of Art on both MA Fashion and MA Textiles. More recently she has written the fashion BA programme and built the department for The Cass school of art based in East London. Aimee is a member of UAL seminar groups specialising in discussions surrounding new technologies in fashion.

 

A Life in Luxury

This is an unprecident oppurtunity for designers to get an insight into how the luxury market works from the inside with muti-award winning designer Aimee McWilliams.

A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Aimee has worked as a creative director for Balmain in Paris and Under in London; produced bespoke couture collections for boutique hotels; influenced the collection direction and brand projection of start-up brands in Russia, Europe and South America; designed couture collections for exhibitions in London, Japan and the Middle East; influenced the collections of commercial outfits such as Levis and Underground; and created showpiece designs for luxury brand advertising such as Mercedes Benz.
